Services for Seniors
Nearly one in three Americans age 65 years or older live in low-income households. To make matters even more difficult, healthcare and housing costs are high, and place a huge strain on the fixed budgets of many of our senior neighbors.
North Kent Community Services is working to help seniors by providing specially tailored programs to meet their needs. Review our Schedule of Services for the next senior event.
Many of these programs are in partnership with Senior Meals (link below). For more information on these programs, or to sign up for Senior Meals on Wheels, please call (616) 459-3111.
Our senior pantry provides for low-income individuals age 60 and older. Pantries are held the second Thursday of each month, (except in December, which is held on the first Thursday), from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A $1.00 donation is requested for each visit.
The Senior Commodity Supplemental Food Program is a federally-funded program which works to improve the health of low-income seniors, 60 or older, by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods once per month.
